Smalt

Description

Our Handmade watercolour Smalt Blue is made from finely ground glass which is coloured by cobalt oxide. You can feel the grainy texture of this paint as you work with it.  The natural tonal range and granulation of our Smalt Blue will give paintings texture, distance and energy. Highly recommended for dynamic skyscapes.

We respect the uniqueness of this pigment with careful hand mulling, thus retaining the intensity of the blue.

You will find Smalt in our Japanese Collection.
